Entry I

I don't know how often I will be able to update this, but I will do my best. I've been keeping a personal journal, and I will draw from that to update about what I've been up to until now.

Right now, though I am in fact registered at Nanzan University, and today was the first day of classes and such. Japan is FREEZING! COLD! and they need central heating. And Nanzan University needs an aesthetician, to wax the ugly right off. The students make up for that though. Everyone is so beautiful. No matter how wack the face, these students make sure they put their best, most well-shod foot forward. I feel quite shoddily American. And nothing and no one in this country will shod me. I have giant monster feet.

There is a Coffee Hour going on right now for the sake of the foreign students, and I'd like to drop in. I don't have Internet access at home, which will be the most difficult thing to adjust to, but my host mother is an English teacher for something called Labo Party and she teaches English to kids, and she uses the laptop often. It's her work laptop and she's deeply worried about something happening to it. So I'm expected to make do with the computers at Nanzan.

Makes it very hard to contact precious people back home, though. I was hoping Skype would be an option, but without Internet, no. At least I fixed my laptop, though. It WAS blue screening. Anyway, I'm off to coffee hour. Then I need to get my commuter pass for the subway. Peace to all, and to all a good night. It's only 2pm here!
